In this article I will tell You about the most easy way to get a residence permit in Ukraine.

If you decided to move to Ukraine for permanent residence, please note that you will need a residence permit in Ukraine. Obtaining a residence permit entitles you to obtain a long-term visa type D. Among all the grounds for obtaining a residence permit, one is the most reliable, affordable and easy. It is work permit. Obtaining a work permit gives the right to apply for a permanent residence in Ukraine. Under the laws of Ukraine all foreign citizens for employment in Ukraine are required to obtain a work permit. Does this mean that you have to find work in Ukraine to obtain a permit? No. You will only need a company, where You will be a shareholder. By Ukrainian law, company owner or shareholder to be appointed as director of that company has the right to apply for work permit in Ukraine obtaining. Also that does not mean that this company is obliged to make any kind of business activity. The state fee for work permission in 500$ (12500 UAH). This is an official payment to State Employment agency of Ukraine. In case of refusal to issue a permit, this amount shall be returned to the applicant.

  • company registration in Ukraine (in this company You will be a 100% owner. You will need a Ukrainian interim director before You will obtain a permission);
  • working permit obtaining;
  • permanent Residence permit obtaining;
  • appeal for long-term visa type D;
Please note that the validity period of the work permit is 1 year. But You should know that every year renewal procedure is needed for working permit and residence permit. The prolongation of permission is possible countless times. Prolongation process is much more easy and simple. Only consider that the work permit in Ukraine is issued to the company itself, and not to the citizen.

If You are going to move to Ukraine for business activity, this is the only right way for You to get a residence permit. Any way, You will need a registered company for an entrepreneurship in which You will probably be a director.

Moreover, the legislation does not establish a minimum mandatory amount of investment, needed for permanent residency. The fact that a person is the owner of a Ukrainian company is enough.

Residence permit in Ukraine is an identity document. Consider that short-term visa entitles you to stay in Ukraine for no more than 180 days a year.

Advantages of foreign representative office in Ukraine
